In the first two Acts, our characters have handled much turmoil and hardship. Using the questions from Acts 1 and 2 to help, find THREE quotations that provide important information that help advance the plot, define the characters, highlight future problems that might occur, or show depth to conflicts.
For each one that you find, you need to do these things: 1.Type the quotation. Note: Keep your quotations between two to four lines. 2. Record the Act #, Scene #, page number and line numbers. 3. Record who said it 4. Summarize what is said 5. Explain why it is important to one of the above factors.
Type your information on a word document.
Example: "What, drawn and talk of peace? I hate the word, as I hate hell, all Montagues, and thee." Tybalt says this in Act 1 Scene 1. Benvolio tries to break up the fight started by the servants, and Tybalt tells him that he's going to fight no matter what because he hates peace as much as he hates the Montagues and Hell. This truly defines Tybalt's character as it shows that he is the enemy to peace. He wants to fight, no matter what. He even wants to fight someone as peaceful as Benvolio, which shows that regardless of who it is, he will fight any Montague because of his hatred.
